Untitled

Fifteen also has a "messageboard" that has become popular throughout the years. The Web address of the Fifteen messageboard is http://www.skatedork.org/fifteen/messageboard.

Removing POV

[edit]

Okay, terrific.

Removing the line "Fifteen is arguably viewed as the leader in the political-punk music scene". Absurd and weasel-y. -24.128.49.39 00:10, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Vandalism"

[edit]

I wrote the majority of this page because the original entry was just a cut-and-pasted paragraph from another website. I noticed that there was some editing which was reverted as being vandalism, and it looks like it actually came from Jeff Ott himself. What he wrote probably should have been addressed on the talk page, but I wanted to respond here in case it still concerned him, as he has a right to contest anything inaccurate being written about him.

1) Describing Fifteen as an "American" band is a Wikipedia convention and only serves to describe the geographic place of origin of the band. It isn't meant to suggest that the band is politically aligned with the US government or even acknowledges its validity, which I assume is the issue with calling the band "American".

2) The word "career" isn't being used to suggest that playing music is supporting you financially. As the article states, it doesn't and that has been the main impediment to the band's existence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.230.158.123 (talk) 01:42, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Jeff also seems to have disputed a claim that Fifteen was dissolved initially due to his belief that being in a touring, electric punk rock band was inconsistent with his expressed environmentalism. There is quite a bit he has written and spoken, particularly on the "Allegra" album which suggests that this was the case, whatever his view of the situation may be now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.200.210.198 (talk) 02:14, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Improvements

[edit]

In light of contested validity of both the Jeff Ott and Fifteen articles, I put a little work into them. Both could still use some clean up. Ways that editors can help:

  • More biographical info on Ott and band members, supported by good sources (books, liner notes, online or print interviews, with links)
  • Better discographical information, also supported by good referential sources
  • Check for grammar, punctuation, and redundant information, often the result of contributions from multiple editors
  • Photos that are not copywritten and therefore free to be included on Wikipedia

Help do these things and this articles will be more than just stub or start-class. Morganfitzp (talk) 21:22, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
